Slow Cooker Marinara

by Lisa Shull
Ingredients:
  • 3 (28oz) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 3 (6oz) cans tomato paste
  • 2 medium onions, diced small
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 whole bay leaves
  • 1 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste

Servings: 8     Prep: 10 min     Cook: 420 min

Directions:
  1. Add all ingredients except salt to the slow cooker. Stir well. If your slow cooker tends to lose moisture, add 1/2 to 1 cup water.
  2. Secure lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  3. Remove lid, stir and remove bay leaves. Add salt to taste.
  • This marinara, with it's fresh tomato taste, is versatile! Try it as a pizza sauce, or mix a little with shredded chicken, etc. for fajitas!
